Problems with the application?

If you are experiencing problems with the application, here are some frequently asked questions that may help you to solve them or you can write to our support chat.

Frequently asked questions

What does this app work for?

The app helps you to avoid having to use paper parking tickets. You use the app to top up your account and with the balance you can create parking sessions for half an hour (for example). You don't have to look for where they sell tickets, or pay the "guachis". You simply enter the app, top up your balance, enter your number plate, and the time you are going to stay in the place. We operate in Montes de Oca, however, we are working to enter other municipalities.

I have not received the user confirmation email, what should I do?

Sometimes the delivery of the confirmation email may be delayed. In these cases you should contact us via the chat within the application so that we can assist you manually and quickly.

I can't pay by card, I get blocked user, what do I do?

Card user blockages are usually due to various reasons beyond our control and are resolved with our bank issuer. You need to contact us via chat to unblock the card. To recharge, you can do it at 70753030, sending the receipt via chat.

My card is not accepted by the system

This happens because certain cards are not allowed to be used for electronic dataphones. This is often solved by going to the issuing bank and asking them to remove these restrictions. These cards are usually from Banco Popular, Caja de Ande, Coope Ande or similar bank issuers. The unsupported means of payment are AMEX cards.

How can I top up my PARSO wallet?

To top up your wallet, you have three options:

  • Top up at affiliated shops. (You can see them on the map in the app).
  • Top up by credit/debit card.
  • Recharge by SinpeMovil to phone 70753030, you must report via chat to be assigned.

To top up by card you must:

  • Go to the top-up section.
  • Select the amount to top up
  • Select payment method
  • Click on PAY

If you have not yet added a payment method, you must do so. You will be asked for your details when you click on an amount option.

The application quits when I try to create a user

This is because you have already created a user with that email/phone number, which was saved correctly and you are trying to create one with the same details. Please contact us via chat to check in the system.

The application tells me that I already have an active user, this is my first time using the system.

These cases occur because you created the user and immediately tried to create another one. Or you clicked several times on the create user button. In this case, you should wait for the confirmation email or contact our support staff via chat.

I made a mistake when I entered my badge number, and the session has already started, what do I do?

The system relies on users to enter their details correctly. If you enter any digits of your plate number incorrectly, or if you enter the wrong plate number because you have more than one vehicle, you could be fined. You should always check the data in the session confirmation.

From the system, we cannot help you to modify the data, as our system sends the information directly to the municipality and the payment is done automatically. It is the responsibility of the user to create another session with the correct data.

My session timer does not show up

On some phones the counter is not immediately visible. Close the application and open it again. You should then be able to see it.

Can I end or change the time of my parking session?

According to the regulations of the municipalities we are in, it is currently not possible to finalise or modify the session data once it has been activated. Furthermore, at the moment of confirming the session, the payment is made directly to the municipality.

When you confirm the payment, you also confirm the time you are paying for, as the charge is made from the first moment, not at the end of the session. It is recommended to use approximate and in case you need more time, extend the session.

Can I pay my fines through this method?

At the moment it is not possible to pay by this means. We are working to bring this initiative to the municipalities so that it can be achieved. We hope to be able to give you the excellent news soon.

How long does my active balance last?

With PARSO, your balance will not expire and will be available for when you need it. The only balance that expires is the one acquired by promotional codes, which have an expiry date of 3 months.

Can I park in several areas of the canton with the same parking session?

If you are within the same municipality and have an active session, you can move and park in the zones that suit you best. There is no need to start new parking sessions, unless you are in another canton in which the session was held.

I had an active session but was fined

If you had an active parking session and still received a parking ticket, it may be for one of the following reasons:

  • Parking in unauthorised parking areas (not on yellow lines, near fire hydrants or garages).
  • Incorrect canton/plate data (wrong plate, marking another canton, etc.)
  • The ticket was issued prior to the offence (often tickets are issued within minutes of each other, either before or after the session).
  • Ticket #0 fine. (See the section on Ticket #0 for more details).

According to our service, we cannot intercede for the cancellation of fines. If this is your case, you should contact the meter maîtres in your area directly for a solution, and if you still believe you have been fined in error, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I had problems with a "wachi" or "wachi".

We understand your frustration. We have worked together with the Municipalities to reduce these occurrences. However, it is difficult to eliminate these situations altogether.

If you have had a problem with a "wachi", what you can do is file a complaint with the police. Remember that all reports are anonymous, and they have no way of knowing who made the report.

We also invite you to let us know what the problem was so that we can redirect it to the parking meter attendants and the corresponding delegation.

From what time to what time are parking meters charged?

Parking meter charging hours will depend on each municipality.

  • Montes de Oca: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In which cantons can I pay with PARSO?

At the moment, you can use PARSO to pay for your on-street parking at:

  • Montes de Oca

If you want PARSO to come to your canton, you can take the initiative to the municipality. This gives us more strength to get involved.

I received a notice of violation that does not correspond to my vehicle / My vehicle is at home.

Number plates in Costa Rica are designated by "Vehicle Type". Therefore, different types of vehicles can have the same number plate. If you received an infraction notice that does not apply to you, there are two main reasons:

  • The offence corresponds to a vehicle that has the same plate, but is of a different class (CL, Particular, Motorcycle, etc.).
  • At some point that vehicle was associated with your account, and that is why you receive notifications if that vehicle is fined.

In either case, you can rest assured that you will not be charged for these fines. All fines are strictly linked to the number plate and the type of vehicle, so you will not be charged as a user or for having a registered number plate. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What happens if I don't see the space number?

If you do not see the space number, set it to 0 to create the session.

How do Muni inspectors check if you paid for your parking with PARSO?

The Muni inspectors are in charge of checking your parking payment, and they use mobile devices like smartphones to check it, so when you pay for your parking with the PARSO app, the information comes directly to them on their devices, so they can validate if you have paid for your parking, so next time you pay with PARSO, don't worry about parking fines.
